Kind of new to all this. Read a lot on the internet though and came across your great site. There's one thing I've never understood and my google searches and fora research left me empty handed still too: the overclocking part. You've posted pics of your 'Bios settings" does this mean the overclocking part is done using the Bios of windows? If so, does it store these settings in your hardware so that when you boot in to mac os you still have an overclocked system? Sorry if this is a dumb question...I'm feeling like a rookie. lol. Thanks for all the info, kindest regards, D.

         Hi Hisham,
Thanks for sharing your BIOS settings! I have a Hackintosh based on the GA-EX58-UD5 mobo from Gigabyte, and I just upped my Geekbench (64Bit) score from a very fast 9310 to a stupid/crazy fast 12900! Simply by changing one setting in the BIOS.
For those who are interested, my Hackintosh build is below. I used the Kakewalk method for getting OS X running, which is so easy, it really has to be tried.
My Hackintosh build:
Software: Kakewalk super easy installer for Gigabyte MOBO’s http://puru.se/
Mac OS X 10.6.3
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 FW9
CPU: Intel Core i7 920 2.6GHZ
COOLER: ARCTIC COOLING FREEZER 7 PRO Rev 2
MEM: Corsair DDR3 Memory 2GB x 3 (6GB)
GPU: XFX ATI Radeon HD4870 1Gb
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro M 700Watt
CASE: LANCOOL PC Dragon Lord K58
OPTICAL: SATA Samsung SH-S223B
In total my Hackintosh cost me €950, $1280, £845. I live in Italy, the Italian Apple Store charges € 2.302,00 for a single 2,66 GHZ Nehalem CPU MacPro, Nehalem is basically a Dual CPU architecture version of the Core i7.
Saving, €1,352, for a faster Machine with a way better Graphics Card. Happy? Very.
Regards, Anil.

Thanks for sharing your setup and install info, Anil! I haven't tried Kakewalk, but from what I hear it seems like a walk in the park for installing OS X!

You're welcome.

To change your Mac's model name from Mini to Mac Pro, the easiest way is to use digital_dreamer's script, option 10 "Modify Mac model name".

For those looking for my overclock settings, I've snapped pics of the BIOS setting screens (was having problems saving the actual setting on a USB).

Get them here.

@ Jason

Seems like some had <a "href=http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=199760&pid=1387974&mode=threaded&start=#entry1387974 rel="nofollow">success. Though whether it's stable remains to be seen.

@ Loupi

You probably forgot to set the partition active (digital_dreamer's script ensures that you do, though).

Try the procedure <a "href=http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=22844" rel="nofollow">here
